Privacy Policy

Privacy at a glance

You can read articles and use the RSS feed without providing an email address. Email subscriptions are handled through Kit. Book purchases take place on Amazon, outside this website.

For a privacy question or request, email privacy@aiopssre.com.

Information and how it is used

Email updates. The subscription form asks for your email address and submits it to Kit (formerly ConvertKit). That information is used to manage your subscription and send the updates you request. Subscription records can include signup and unsubscribe information, delivery status, and email engagement information processed by the email service.

Messages. If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any information or attachments you include. We use those details to respond and handle your request. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details, or confidential production data.

Website requests. Hosting and delivery services may process technical information such as IP address, requested URL, browser information, timestamps, and error or security events to deliver pages, troubleshoot problems, and protect the service. An IP address can be personal information; it should not be assumed to be anonymous.

Service providers and external websites

The site is hosted through OpenAI Sites with Cloudflare infrastructure. Hosting providers process requests needed to serve and secure the website. See OpenAI’s privacy policy and Cloudflare’s privacy policy for their descriptions of information handling.

Kit processes newsletter subscriber information for the publication. Its Data Processing Addendum describes its processing of subscriber data. Its privacy policy also explains information collected when you interact directly with Kit’s own services.

Book links lead to Amazon. Purchases, payment information, shipping details, and retailer accounts are handled there. Links to LinkedIn and other external websites also take you to services with their own privacy practices.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. Information may be shared with providers to operate the publication, in response to a legal obligation, or where necessary to protect rights and safety.

Cookies and browser storage

The current website does not include a publisher-installed advertising pixel or third-party audience analytics script. Its reading pages do not require an account. Hosting or security services may use technical cookies, and external services such as Kit or Amazon may use cookies when you visit them.

You can review, block, or delete cookies in your browser settings. Those choices may affect external services. Using an RSS reader lets you receive the public feed without joining the email list; the reader you choose has its own privacy practices.

Optional audience measurement

If you choose Allow counts, the site records daily totals for page visits, returning-browser activity, engaged reading, tool interactions, reviewed tool results, resource download clicks, signup attempts, and searches with no results. The records contain the public page path, event type, a predefined resource or search-topic label, date, and count. They do not contain email addresses, raw search text, IP addresses, or visitor identifiers. Hosting providers still process request information as described above.

Measurement is off until you opt in and remains off when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. Use Privacy choices in the footer to change your choice. Browser storage remembers that choice, the previous visit date, and session counts to reduce duplicate reporting; these values are not sent as identifiers. Counts are estimates from participating browsers, not a complete audience census. A signup attempt does not prove a confirmed email subscription.

Daily audience totals are retained for up to 90 days and older totals are removed when another measurement is processed. Turning measurement off clears its visit and session markers from this browser; previously aggregated totals cannot identify or be separated by an individual. No third-party audience analytics script or advertising pixel is added.

Toolkit drafts and local storage

Toolkit entries are processed in your browser and are not included in audience events. File drafts and reports are downloaded to your chosen location. Save on this device is off by default; enabling it stores the current tool draft in this browser until you remove its device copy or clear site storage. The preference applies to the current working session. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to access that draft. Turning audience measurement off does not delete separately saved tool drafts.

Workflow transfers use temporary storage in the current browser tab. The receiving tool asks you to review the transfer. Public example links contain only illustrative datasets, not your entries. A reviewed-result count means the user opened a result that passed the tool’s basic checks; it does not establish the accuracy of the source data or a production outcome.

Retention and security

How long information is retained depends on its purpose, including managing subscriptions, answering requests, maintaining delivery and security records, and meeting legal obligations. Provider retention rules also apply. Contact us to ask about a particular record or request deletion. Unsubscribing stops future newsletter delivery; it is not the same as deleting every subscription record.

Your choices and privacy requests

  • Stop email updates: use the unsubscribe link in a newsletter.
  • Ask about your information: request access, correction, or deletion by emailing us.
  • Other requests: depending on where you live and applicable law, you may also have rights to object to processing, restrict processing, receive a portable copy, or withdraw consent.

Describe the request and the email address involved. We may need to verify that a request concerns your information. Applicable legal requirements and recordkeeping obligations can affect what we can delete or provide. Where applicable, you can raise a concern with your local data protection authority.
