Canva AI
Canva AI works inside Canva’s Visual Suite to turn a brief into a design that can be edited further. Its Design Model announcement describes layered output, while the live product/help pages retain account-dependent rollout and allowances; not every account has identical AI 2.0 features. Magic Write separately supports drafting and refining text in documents and designs, which makes writing a substantive part of this profile. A useful task combines the exact approved message with a format, audience and brand brief, then checks the editable layout rather than accepting a rendered preview alone. Canva fits social graphics, slides and campaign variations where text hierarchy and brand placement need revision. Generated facts, charts and citations still require their own verification against sources.

Access and setup
Canva account; AI features, Brand Templates, shared allowances and AI 2.0 rollout depend on the plan/account. Third-party apps have their own terms.
Current access and pricing- Open Canva and check which Canva AI and Magic Write features are available to the account; review any beta invitation terms.

- Review the shared AI allowance before requesting variations and keep a copy of the approved text for comparison.
Proposed exercise · not hands-on tested
A workshop announcement with editable copy and layout
Input
A fictional internal workshop brief with an approved title, date and venue, an owned abstract icon and synthetic brand colors; no invented attendance or performance figures.
- Use Magic Write to propose two shorter descriptions from the supplied brief; manually choose wording that preserves its title, date and venue.
- Ask Canva AI for an editable social graphic in the target format, using the owned icon and approved copy; use the selected Brand Template if available.
- Make one targeted hierarchy or spacing revision, inspect the actual editable elements and export a reviewed preview while keeping the design document.
Artifact to inspect
A proposed editable announcement plus a reviewed preview; neither copy nor design was generated during this research.
What to verify
Compare every date/name with the brief, verify editable text and layout, check contrast and mobile readability, and inspect any generated illustration for unintended text or brand marks.
Data handling and permissions
Canva’s AI FAQ permits personal/commercial projects but says generated images, designs and text are not guaranteed cleared for use or exclusive. Shield guidance excludes Teams, Business, Enterprise and Education content from AI-feature improvement; that account scope must stay explicit. The published Canva AI Beta 2.0 terms separately permit input/output and interaction data use for model development, staff evaluation and training, override ordinary AI consent settings, and prohibit sensitive inputs. Review the actual invitation’s terms before assuming Shield controls apply to a beta. Third-party apps have separate policies. A permitted design still needs reference rights and source checks for factual text, charts and citations.
