Step 1
Calculate the allowance
Choose the request-based or time-based definition and enter the matching measurement population.
Before moving on: Review exclusions and missing data before interpreting the remaining budget.
Save the report. A time-based allowance and a request-based allowance are different definitions.
Step 2
Inspect the rate of consumption
For an event-based SLI, enter two nested windows that end together and use the same indicator.
Before moving on: Review the window assumptions and threshold. Overlapping windows must not be added.
Enter the window counts separately. The calculator does not import the previous budget report or convert minutes into requests.
Step 3
Review the policy checkpoint
Return to your budget draft and record the checkpoint your team has agreed to use.
Before moving on: Have the policy owner review the evidence, exceptions and next decision.
Export the report for review. A passing calculation does not authorize a release.
